The award-winning play, created by Simon McBurney and his theater company Complicité, integrates technology and original dance and music to focus on love, humor, creativity, and math.
H.G. Hardy’s book, “The Mathematician’s Apology,” inspired the play about a businessman who falls in love with a mathematics professor.
Senior Lee Rosen wrote the original score, which is performed on stage by senior Karthik Rao on the sitar and sophomore Sajan Bar on the tabla. Choreography is by junior Komal Keerthy and guest artist Rachel Kodweis, a New York- based actor and movement artist.
The student production team is working with QLab, a program used in professional and university theaters that controls multimedia performances, while others are creating online resources to enhance the audience experience.
Performances will take place in the Frances G. Wills Auditorium at the high school. The Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m.; the Sunday show is at 2:30 p.m. All seats are $15 online at www.showtix4u.com.
